Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai is telling us that Korach was running towards something that did not belong to him. Anyone that is running after something that does not belong to him, this thing runs away from this person.
This is a big lesson, people instead of being happy with their portion, they are desiring what belongs to others. Even though most of the people know that envy is not a good thin, it is very hard to be happy with one’s portion. How can we stay focused on what we have? The simple answer is that it has its root in faith. The right thought should be: if Hashem gave it to me is because I need it and if Hashem did not give it to me is because I do not need it.
